Bruins’ shots don’t pay off in loss

For the second night in a row the Austin Bruins had more shots than the NAHL Central’s top team but it came up short again in a 3-1 loss to the Coulee Region Chill (25-13-4 overall) on paint the rink pink night in Riverside Arena Saturday.

Alex Tesenky put Austin (14-22-3 overall) up 1-0 in the first with a goal, but the Chill scored two powerplay goals in the second period to take control.

Austin had five more shots on goal in the game, but Coulee Region goalie Paul Moberg stopped 35 of the 36 shots he saw.

Austin’s Keegan Asmundson stopped 28 of 31 shots.

The game was a sellout with an attendance of 1,900.
