My wife, Deb, was one of the three ladies who participated in the Austin Bruins Breast Cancer Awareness game on Saturday, Feb. 5. Deb was diagnosed in December 2005, with the cancer returning in December 2008.

We were very impressed with the organization of this event. Melissa Tok, the Austin Bruins and the Hormel Cancer Research Institute did an outstanding job in putting this all together.

But what was really a joy to see was how the community of Austin embraced the event; selling out the game, sticking around for the jersey auction and their generosity toward breast cancer research was really a blessing to Deb.

Thank you Austin for your wonderful support in helping find a cure for breast cancer.
