The Southland girls basketball team used its defense to get past Fillmore Central (7-3 overall, 7-2 Three Rivers) 57-44 in Adams Tuesday.

The Rebels (10-2 overall, 7-2 Three Rivers) put the clamps on Fillmore guard Connor Nagle as they held her to nine points.

“We hounded Connor Nagle with a couple of different girls all night and that was the difference in the game,” Southland head coach Bob Sheehan said.
