Dan Wiese passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in his home in Chaska on Jan. 8 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.

Dan graduated from Pacelli High School in 1967. He attended college at the University of Minnesota and Mankato State. He graduated with honors with a degree in biology. Dan worked as an IT manager for 25 years. He was an avid trout fisherman and loved to roam the streams of southeastern Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Sarah and Jacob; mother, Marie Wiese of Austin; sisters, Janice Mauss of New Albin, Iowa and Mary Jo Swoboda of Austin; brothers, Tom Wiese of Le Crescent and Tim Wiese of Austin.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Keith Wiese, and his twin brother, David Wiese.

A celebration of his life will be held at Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church, 145 Engler Blvd, Chaska, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorials be sent to the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota.

He was deeply loved by his family and we will keep his memory alive in our hearts and memories forever.
