The Hayfield girls basketball team let one bad stretch get the best of them in a 56-46 loss at Byron (8-3 overall) Friday.

The Vikings (7-3 overall) held a two-point lead in the second half when they struggled with turnovers against Byron’s press for about a one and a half minute span. The Bears took an eight point lead and never gave it up.

“We didn’t handle the press on a few trips and all of the sudden they were up eight,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said. “We were chasing the rest of the way.”
