Blue Devil women rally past Western Tech

The Riverland women’s basketball team overcame a sluggish start to beat Western Technical College 73-52 in Riverland Gym Monday.

The Blue Devils (9-4 overall) closed the first half on a 28-6 run to put the game away after they struggled with fouls and turnovers early on.

“Our offense wasn’t scoring and when you don’t score, you quit getting to loose balls and you don’t rebound as well,” RCC head coach Suzy Hebrink said. “We picked up our defense and then we got going.”RCC led by as many as 30 in the second half as it cruised to its seventh straight win.

Krista Viehauser had 16 points for RCC, Robin Arjes had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Selena Gindratt had 11 boards.
