The Austin girls hockey team snapped a five-game losing streak when it beat Windom Area 11-2 on the road Saturday.

The Packers (5-12 overall) put up six goals in the first period and they cruised from that point.

Abby Gallaher had seven points — three goals and four assists — in the win and Allison Hoban stopped nine shots in the net.

Valorie Bates had one goal and three assists for Austin, Ashley Arhart scored two goals, Carley Grunewald and Alex Larson each had one goal and two assists, Marie Clennon had two assists, and Rebecca Bartlett, Vanessa Talamantes and Lea Seomones all scored one goal.

Austin out-shot Windom (2-12 overall) 43-11.
