The United Way of Mower County is nearly halfway to meeting its goal.

The fall fundraising campaign has so far generated nearly $424,000 of donations from area residents.

“We are very pleased with where we are at,” said Executive Director Mandi Lighthizer-Schmidt in a press release. “We are not done with campaign but this puts us on track to make goal. We’ve said it before, residents of Mower County are generous.”

The fundraising campaign ends Dec. 15, though donations related to the campaign are received until March.

The United Way plan to reveal another preliminary total to the community on Dec. 8.
