The Grand Meadow boys basketball team lost its first game of the season to St. Charles (1-0 overall) by a score of 59-46 in GM Thursday.

The Superlarks (0-1 overall) trailed 41-24 at the half, but they held St. Charles to 18 second half points.

“Overall I was really pleased with our effort and thought we did a nice job of getting on the floor for loose balls,” GM head coach Chad Burmester said. “What really hurt us was a lack of communication defensively, we did nice with it to begin the game and then it disappeared. We can definitely take some positives away from this game but it also gives us an idea of what we need to work on to be a complete team.”
