MINNEAPOLIS  — The University of Minnesota says no more shovelers are needed to clear snow from TCF Bank Stadium for the Minnesota Vikings game.

The university says shovelers have cleared nearly 30,000 cubic yards of snow over the past two days in preparation for Monday night’s game between the Vikings and Chicago Bears. All available slots for Friday shoveling have been filled.

The NFL says the University of Minnesota’s outdoor stadium is the preferred venue for the game displaced by the Metrodome’s snow-damaged roof. Heating coils under a tarpaulin will be used to thaw the artificial grass field at the stadium for a night game expected to be played in single-digit temperatures.
