Marilyn Hofius, age 71 of St. Charles, Minn., formerly of Blooming Prairie, died at Golden Living Center in St. Charles early Sunday morning, Dec. 19, 2010.

She was born Feb. 25, 1939 to Raymond and Elizabeth (Slinger) Hofius in Westfield Township, Dodge County, Minn. where she went to country school. She attended Blooming Prairie High School. Marilyn enjoyed visiting with her family and babysitting the nieces and nephews.

Survivors include two brothers: Dale (Sue) Hofius of Blooming Prairie; John Hofius of Orangevale, Calif.; cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Elizabeth Hofius; sisters, Shirley Hovey and Marlys Kubista.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastor Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Interment is at Union Cemetery, Bixby. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service.
