The Lyle/Pacelli girls basketball team got its first win of the season when it topped LeRoy/Ostrander 51-34 on the road Tuesday.

L/P (1-2 overall, 1-1 SEC) broke the game open late as it led 20-15 at the half and the Cardinals (1-4 overall, 1-1 SEC) initially led 7-2 to start the game.

“We worked our way back into it and the biggest thing for our girls is learning how to win,” L/P head coach Brad Walter said. “Hopefully, we’ll come out on the top end of more of the close games over the rest of the season.”

Just four players scored for L/P, but senior center Nayabang Diang led the way with 25 points and freshman guard Ann Rysavy chipped in 16.
