Lois Beer

Lois was born Jan. 29, 1949, in Austin; an individual like no other – wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a woman who loved life when she was on the “beat”.

She traveled the world and soaked in every bit of culture and cuisine a country could share. With her passport near and a bag always packed, she was ready to go to any destination presented to her with enthusiasm.

Lois embraced life’s ups and downs the same way. Wherever she lived, she mad it a loving comfortable home for her family in no time at all. As an accomplished seamstress, she had her family’s new home decorated with curtains, spreads and pillows in record time. And among it all, she created her daughters one-of-a-kind dresses designed to their desire. She brought her gardening inside and created savory dishes for her family to sit at the table and enjoy together.

Her smile lit up every room and always warmed her husband, Bruce’s hear. They were married Nov. 25, 1967 and would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on Thanskgiving day this year. Throughout their marriage they lived in eight states and countless cities. They enjoyed traveling and playing bridge together. Bruce is eternally grateful for his wife’s support.

Their daughters, Raquel and Nicole, loved their worldly family trips, even as adults. As a mother, Lois shared with her daughters her love of life, the importance of family and to approach everything that came their way with courage and fortitude. This strength and dtermination helped them to blossom into two beautiful ladies inside and out. Raquel lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., with her family: Kurt, Arianna, Emma and Blake. Grandma Lois embraced her grandchildren by cupping their their faces between her two hands and planting a big kiss righ on their lips and telling them she loved them. Her loving and affectionate ways are cherished by all of her family and even Nicole’s Delta co-workers, who knew her by first name. Nicole, who lives in Long Beach, New York, took her mother’s love of travel to an entirely new level.

Lois was always up for a good time no matter the time zone or country. Every person she touched will carry on Lois’s love. Cheers to her, to life and to the legacy that she graced all of us with now and forever.
