Lillian Lavon Snider, 74

Lillian Lavon Snider, 74 of Blooming Prairie, died at Prairie Manor Monday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2010.
She was born Feb. 15, 1936, to Elmer and Sylvia (McCormick) DeRaad in Albert Lea. She grew up in Hollandale and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1955. She married Edwin Snider on Nov. 3, 1955 in Blooming Prairie.
A cook at Blooming Prairie public schools for 36 years, Lillian worked another five years or more part time. She lived in the Blooming Prairie area all her married life. A member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church where she was active in CCW, Lillian enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping and snowmobiling. She loved family gatherings and playing cards, especially 500 and Canasta.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Edwin of Blooming Prairie; two daughters, Pam (Randy) Seykora, Owatonna and Debbie (Scott Neumann) Trom, Ellendale; son, Gregory (Gloria) Snider, Blooming Prairie; six grandchildren: Steven, Stacy, Amy, Jeremy, Jennifer and Kristine; six great-grandchildren: Marti, Morgan, Caitlin, Aiden, Keagan and Landen; three sisters: Elenora Carey, Albert Lea; Marilyn Abbe, Alden and Shirley Stundahl of Austin.
She was preceded in death by her son, Edwin Gregory, in infancy; her parents; three sisters: Starlene, Gloria and Helen and two brothers, Delbert and Merrel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie with Father William Kulas officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is at St. Columbanus Catholic Cemetery in Blooming Prairie. The family prefers memorials to American Cancer Society. You may send condolences to www.worlein.com
