Two vehicles and a snowmobile collided on 540th Avenue south of County Road 28 Saturday around midnight, causing unknown injuries to the teenagers involved in the crash.

Justin Hutchinson, 19, of Austin, was using his pickup truck to pull a snowmobile out of deep snow in the ditch when Rachelle Lady, 19, of Austin, was driving northbound on 540th Avenue and attempted to pass the truck.

When Lady entered the southbound lane, she saw a car coming towards her in the lane and swerved back into the northbound lane, striking the front of the pickup truck.

Upon impact, the truck jerked forward, tearing the hood of the snowmobile off. The snowmobile is owned by Andrew Lewison, 16, of Rose Creek.

Chief Deputy Mark May said the police report indicated there were injuries, but it did not state who sustained the injuries or whether they were transported to Austin Medical Center.
