The Hayfield girls basketball team won its fifth straight game when it beat Kenyon/Wanamingo (1-3 overall) 60-48 on the road Tuesday.

Hayfield (5-0 overall) led 38-28 at the half and it controlled the game the rest of the way.

“We were a step quicker in a couple of spots and we forced a lot of turnovers,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said.

Kelsey Severson had 11 points, five rebounds and five assists and freshman Dani Wagner had eight points and seven rebounds in the win.
