The Hayfield girls basketball team lost its first game of the season when it fell to Goodhue 55-31 in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (5-1 overall) struggled with shooting as they shot 24 percent from the field and eight percent on three pointers while committing 36 turnovers.

“We turned the ball over way too much,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said. “And while we did have some looks, our lack of ability to shoot the ball hurt us tonight.”
