Two men were cited Christmas night and early the next morning for assaulting each other twice within 9 hours.

The first altercation took place at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Hiawatha when Wayne Rodriquez, 41, and Ruben Edmund, 43, got into a verbal argument that led to Rodriquez allegedly punching Edmund in the face.

Rodriquez was cited in the incident, most likely with disorderly conduct, according to Police Captain Dave McKichan.

Nine hours later, around 4 a.m., officers were called to Rodriquez’ home where Edmund allegedly showed up and started a physical fight with Rodriquez. Rodriquez told police that the man had come to his house and punched him in the face.

Edmund was arrested and cited with fifth-degree assault.
