The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team lost its season opener in Kenyon/Wanamingo (1-0 overall) 61-38 Tuesday.

The Awesome Blossoms (0-1 overall) trailed 26-17 at the half and they finished with 26 turnovers, while shooting 22 percent from the field.
