A 16-year-old Austin girl was struck by a vehicle turning left onto West Oakland Avenue by Godfather’s Pizza early Thursday morning.

The girl and her friend were apparently crossing West Oakland when the vehicle turned left from Fifth Street and struck one of the girls. The other girl, according to police, was waiting for the vehicle to turn before crossing the street.

Police said the girl was walking and talking after she was hit and originally refused medical treatment, but was transported to Austin Medical Center as a precaution because she is a minor.

The girl only complained of minor foot pain.
