Winnie The Pooh coming to Paramount Theater

The Christmas season kicks off a bit early Friday when the Matchbox Children’s Theater presents “A Winnie The Pooh Christmas Tail,” at the Paramount Theater.

According to Cameron Davis, the musical’s director, the story is based off of one of the first tales from the first Winnie the Pooh book. Perennially gloomy Eeyore has lost his tail just before Christmas, which leaves him more depressed and miserable than ever. Winnie the Pooh, seeing his friend so depressed so close to Christmas, volunteers to lead the search of the Hundred Acre Wood to rescue the lost appendage.

The musical features nine of the most beloved characters in A.A. Milne’s fictional universe, including Rabbit, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Christopher Robin and Pooh. The players, which range from age 11 to adults, will be accompanied by a five piece orchestra during the musical.
