Twins slugger wants Target Field adjustments

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Twins slugger Justin Morneau said he and his teammates are disappointed the club hasn’t addressed moving the outfield fences at Target Field to make it easier to homer.

This week the Twins announced $4 million to $6 million in improvements at Target Field, but didn’t address players’ concerns about the outfield fences. Morneau tells the Star Tribune it’s nearly impossible for a right-handed hitter to homer to the opposite field and very difficult for lefties. This season the Twins hit 52 home runs at Target Field and 90 on the road. Team president Dave St. Peter says there are no plans to alter the field’s dimensions.

On another matter, Morneau says he’s still not 100 percent recovered from a concussion, but is feeling a lot better.
