Teens admit to burglary

Three St. Ansgar, Iowa, teenagers are in custody after breaking into the Lyle Cenex convenience store Saturday night around 11:45 p.m.
A couple that lives in Lyle alerted the police after they heard glass breaking at the Cenex and saw a car heading north on Highway 218.
Austin Police arrested the three teenage males – ages 15, 17 and 15 – near Highway 218 and County Road 4.
Upon arrest, the teens admitted to breaking into the Cenex. They said they entered through the glass right front door, which was smashed when police arrived.
No money was stolen during the burglary, but the teens did take convenience store goods, including cigarettes.
There is no damage estimate at this time. The teens are being held at the Mower County jail while they await charges.
