Samuel John Mullenbach, 57, of Johnsburg, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at St. Marys’ Hospital.

Sam was born on April 9, 1953 in Osage, IA, to Norbert and Alice (Klapperich) Mullenbach. After graduating from Adams High School, Sam worked for a short time at TCM in Stacyville. He ran a small fix-it shop at his home, where he would do odd jobs for friends and family. Sam was also the long-time custodian at St. John’s Catholic Church in Johnsburg. Sam was known as a practical joker and in his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and being in the outdoors. In his spare time, Sam enjoyed cruising around in his pickup.

Sam is survived by sisters: Linda (James) Wagner, Osage, Iowa; Sharon Mullenbach, Elkton; Norma Mullenbach, Austin; Ann (Joe) Mayer, Stacyville, Iowa; brother, Mark Mullenbach, Austin; nine nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Alice Mullenbach; grandparents; brother, Mathias and nephew, Calvin Mayer.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Johnsburg, MN with Father Thomas Loomis officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church for one hour before the service on Friday. Adams Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
