The Riverland women’s basketball team led early and topped Western Wisconsin Tech 76-50 in La Crosse Wednesday.

The Blue Devils (2-2 overall) led 49-25 at the break and they never looked back.

“We played a great first half and we attacked the boards well,” RCC head coach Suzy Hebrink said. “But we had a sloppy second half and we were nagged with foul trouble.”

Krista Viehasuer, a sophomore from Austin, had 17 points to lead RCC, Robin Arjes, a freshman center from Austin, had 11 points and seven rebounds and Brooke Rosenstiel had 12 points.

Joni Lillo had six assists, while Bridget Bergstrom and Krissy Schemmel had eight rebounds for RCC.

Selena Gindratt had seven rebounds.
