John Carlyle Howley, 85, of Austin, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Kennedy Park Care Center in Weston, Wis.

John was born April 10, 1925, in Austin to Edward and Evelyn (Donnelly) Howley.
He married Donna Mae Scrabeck on Dec. 28, 1942, in Austin. She preceded him in death Oct. 2, 2010. He was also a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. John is also a retired employee of Hormel Foods.
Survivors include his children, Tuti McEwen (Jeff), Bob Howley (Kim), Jim Howley (Susan) and Sally Robson (John). 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, Dan and a sister, Georgia Ann Brewster.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m, on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. His family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post No. 91.
