Hazel Irene (Weiland) Post, 103, died at Austin Medical Center on Nov. 24, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 6, 1907 in Pleasant Valley Township near Dexter to Julius and Bertha Weiland. She grew up on a farm with her two brothers. She married Clarence O. (Red) Post on Sept. 3, 1929. They made their home in Austin where they raised a family of five children.

Hazel began her retail career at J.C. Penny Co. She then became the “go-to-gal” in the children’s department at Fantle’s for many, many years. She was the oldest member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by two sons: Robert (Clare) Post of Buffalo; Roger (Kathy) Post of Edina; three daughters: Lois Post, Sharon DeMoss, Diane (Maynard) Wolfe all of Austin; grandchildren: Paula, Perrin and Penne Post; Paige (Len) John; Jill and Julie DeMoss; Jacquenette (Richard) Dorough; Jodi (John) Dullum; Andrew (Patty) Post; Anne Post; Jason (Valerie) Post; Maren (Trent) Rutledge; step-grandchildren: Teresa (Ed) Arnold; Michael (Michelle) Wolfe; Toni (Brad) Lukes; Martin (Pamela) Wolfe; great-grandchildren: Alexandra John; Jocelyn (Troy) Vlasaty; Venessa Jorgenson; Natalie (Anthony) Leong; Melissa, Matthew and Stephanie Dullum; Gabriella, Rhiannon and Abigail Dorough; William, Christopher and Lily Post; Elizabeth Rutledge; step-grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Rob) Arnold; Seth Arnold; Aaron and Evan Roseboom; Tana, Kaycee and Bret Lukes; Simon and Nigel Wolfe; Grace and Ava Wolfe; great-great-grandchildren: Adam, Isaac and Alyssa Vlasaty; Jackson Barrientos and her 100 year old brother, Earl Weiland.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Julius and Bertha Weiland; husband, Clarence (Red) Post; brother, Arthur Weiland and step-grandaughter, Jean Wolfe.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday. Interment will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Austin.
