Express score late to top Bruins

A late flurry was not enough for the Austin Bruins as the Express scored with just under two minutes left in the game to walk a way with a 3-2 victory in Owatonna Wednesday.

Ben Persian put the Express (11-7 overall) up for good with a goal with 1:16 left in the game.

The Bruins (6-11 overall) scored twice in a five-minute span late in the third when Chris Fischer, a forward from Apple Valley, scored his first goal of the season, and Jeremy Finger, a forward from Orlando, Fla., scored his third goal of the season to tie it up at two.

Austin survived a tough second period by allowing just one goal as the Express out-shot them 15-5 in that frame.

Keegan Asmundson stopped 34 of the 37 shots he saw in the net for the Bruins.
