ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Democrat Mark Dayton is focusing on the upcoming legislative session Monday as Minnesota’s top court considers Republican Tom Emmer’s lawsuit in their undecided governor’s election.

Dayton and running mate Yvonne Prettner Solon (SO’-lun) are set to spend an hour with incoming Senate Minority Leader Tom Bakk (bahk) and House Minority Leader Paul Thissen (TEE’-sen) at the Capitol. Dayton will hold a news conference after the meeting.

The former U.S. senator leads Emmer by 8,755 votes in the governor’s race, a close enough margin to trigger an automatic recount. Emmer has petitioned the Minnesota Supreme Court for proof that the number of votes and voters matches up.
