County 45 through Mapleview is fully open until next spring.

While work isn’t finished on the project to resurface the busy road from Interstate 90 to Highway 218, a hard surface is down on the entire road.

“We were fortunate to get two weeks of scrambling attention by the contractor,” County Engineer Mike Hanson said.

Hanson said it was important to have blacktop complete rather than gravel to maintain this winter.

Hanson described the project as being about a third done, with resurfacing still needing to be completed from County Road 25 to Highway 218. However, Hanson said the work will be more straight forward than the project was through Mapleview, where some underground culvert work needed to be completed.

Another layer of blacktop is also expected next spring through Mapleview to I-90.
