Bruins’ late rally comes up short

The Austin Bruins couldn’t finish off a dramatic comeback as they lost to Coulee Region 4-3 in Onalaska, Wis. Friday.

The Bruins (6-10 overall) scored three goals early in third period to tie the game at three, but Coulee (9-6 overall) took the lead for good when Lucas Dillon scored a goal with just under eight minutes left in the game.

James Dickinson, a forward from Knoxville, Tenn., scored back-to-back goals to make it 3-2 and Cody Hotchkin knocked in a power play goal with 11 minutes left in the game to tie it up.

Keegan Asmundson had 33 saves for the Bruins, who attempted 44 shots on goal.
