QB — Luc Zellmer, Blooming Prairie

The junior quarterback carried the BP offense this fall — finishing with 2,952 passing yards (sixth most in MSHL history), 43 touchdowns (second most in MSHSL history) and six interceptions while completing 57 percent of his passes. He also ran for 154 yards and seven touchdowns. Zellmer now has the most career touchdown passes (78) in BP history and is seventh in MSHSL history. He is 24 scoring throws from becoming the state’s all-time leader in touchdown passes.

RB — Caleb Leichtnam, Grand Meadow

The senior, who mostly lined up under center, finished with 2,390 all purpose yards and 33 touchdowns for the Superlarks (8-2 overall). Leichtnam, an explosive athlete, ran for 1,785 yards (10.3 per carry) and 26 scores, and he finishes his GM career with 6,877 all purpose yards and 75 touchdowns.

RB — Nick Schmitz/Mike Goergen, Southland

The sophomore duo combined for over 1,000 yards of offense and 17 total touchdowns for the Rebels (7-3 overall). Schmitz ran for 500 yards (7.1 per carry) and eight touchdowns, while catching six passes for 50 yards and two scores. Goergen ran for 476 yards (8.7 per carry) and caught 17 passes for 250 yards while scoring seven total TDs. Schmitz had one interception on defense and Goergen picked off two passes.

WR — Alan May, Southland

The senior wideout hauled in 46 passes for 1,016 yards (22.1 per catch) and 15 scores while returning a punt for a TD. May finished his Southland career with over 2,200 yards receiving and 31 touchdown catches.

WR — Gabe Kartes, BP

The big play junior was a dual threat for BP as he finished with 1,434 all-purpose yards and 17 touchdowns. He had 894 receiving yards on 42 catches (21.3 per catch) and he averaged 12.8 yards per carry on the ground.

WR — Cooper Nelson, BP

Despite missing about half the season with an injury, Nelson was able to haul in 30 passes for 439 yards and five scores.

OL — Tyler Bergene, Southland

The senior blocker helped open holes for a Southland team that put up over 30 points six times this season.

OL — Scott Wilson, Grand Meadow

The senior paved the way for the Grand Meadow rushing attack.

OL — Blake Arndt

The senior guard was very physical up front as he led the Vikings’ blockers.

OL — Josh Landherr, Southland

The senior blocker was key for Southland’s attack.

OL — Trevor Emanuel, Southland

The senior gave Southland some size up front as he was a physical force.


S — Evan Bungum, Hayfield

The senior picked off three passes, including one for a score and he also made 29.5 tackles.

S — Cole Adams, Austin

The hard hitting senior finished with 39 tackles.

CB — Alan May, Southland

The senior picked off five passes this year and finished with 21 interceptions for his career.

CB — Caleb Leichtnam, GM

The senior had 76 tackles and eight interceptions for Larks and he finishes his career with 16 interceptions.

LB — Luke Hueman, BP

The junior patrolled the middle of the field for the Awesome Blossoms and he delivered plenty of hard hits. Hueman finished with 144 tackles, 11 for a loss, and 4 sacks.

LB — Anthony Condit, Austin

The junior was quick to the ball on defense for the Packers (0-9 overall), as he racked up 77 tackles and two sacks.

LB — Richard Bain, GM

The junior finished the season with 111 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 fumble recovery for the Larks.

DL — Tyler Bergene, Southland

The senior racked up 10 tackles for a loss.

DL — Cooper Nelson, BP

The senior was a defensive playmaker for the Awesome Blossoms, as he finished with 33 tackles, 7 tackles for a loss and six sacks. He also ran an interception back for a touchdown.

DL — Josh Landherr, Southland

The senior finished with 12 tackles for a loss.

DL — Trevor Emanuel, Southland

The senior had five tackles for a loss and fumble recovery. Emanuel also averaged 36.1 yards per punt on 32 attempts.


Sam Noterman, quarterback, Southland

The senior threw for 1,600 yards with 21 touchdowns and 9 interceptions and he also ran for 312 yards and four scores.

Andy Wagnen, linebacker, Austin

The senior was a locker room leader for the Packers and finished with 68 tackles and two sacks.

Tyler Nelson, Hayfield

The senior was quite the utility man for the Vikings, playing seven different positions throughout the year. Nelson lined up at free safety, linebacker, defensive end, offensive guard, wide receiver, running back and quarterback. He finished with 360 all purpose yards, 25 tackles, one interception and one return for a touchdown.

Garrett Jenkins, running back/linebacker, Lyle/Pacelli

Despite starting the year off as a blocking back, the senior led L/P in rushing with 613 yards (5.2 per carry) and five touchdowns. As a linebacker, Jenkins had 80 tackles.
