Adrian C. Tinderholt, 94

Adrian C. Tinderholt, 94, a resident of Fergus Falls and formerly of Austin, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at the PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

He was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Lac Qui Parle County, the son of Martin and Sophie (Evenson) Tinderholt. He attended rural elementary school, graduating from Dawson High School in 1933. He graduated from Augsburg College in Minneapolis in 1938.

On Nov. 9, 1941, he married Eleanor Leyk in Minneapolis. He was employed by the Freeborn National Bank of Albert Lea in 1939. He transferred to the First National Bank of Austin in 1948, where he was the cashier and comptroller, retiring in 1978.

Adrian was in the U. S. Army during World War II, serving with the 99th Infantry Division in Europe. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star.

He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway, both in Austin.

He is survived by his son, Cecil (Linda) Tinderholt of Northwood, N.D.; a daughter, Adrianne (Wayne) Miller of Fergus Falls; four granddaughters: Kolby, Tracy, Jennifer, and Stefanie; two great-granddaughters: Alexandra and Hannah and one great-grandson, Nicholas.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, and one brother, LeRoy.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at the PioneerCare Chapel in Fergus Falls with Chaplain Harry Olson officiating. Interment will be at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Baxter Township of Lac Qui Parle County. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
