An Austin woman was extricated from her vehicle Friday afternoon after being struck by a Chevy pick-up on County Road 45 in Lansing Township.

According to another driver who witnessed the accident, Nicole Frances Lansing, 29, was either pulling onto County Road 45 from County Road 25 or doing a U-turn in the middle of the highway when the pick-up struck her on the driver’s side.

Kurt Regenscheid, 34, of rural Austin, was driving the pick-up. He said he attempted to stop when he saw the woman’s car in the middle of the road.

Lansing was treated by Gold Cross paramedics at the scene and then taken to Austin Medical Center. Her injuries are unknown.

Regenscheid was not injured.
