The Austin boys soccer team came through with a 1-0 victory in Albert Lea (6-7-1 overall, 2-6-1 Big Nine) Thursday night.

Austin (8-5-2 overall, 4-3-2 Big Nine) scored its lone goal with 18 minutes left in the game when Francisco Torres dribbled through and found the back of the net.

Torres had missed a go-ahead penalty kick just a minute earlier.

“I think he was a little upset that he missed the PK and he made it happen,” Austin head coach Jens Levsien said.

The Packers had 24 shots and Jesus Allejo had five saves.

“We played as a team and it was a good effort,” Levisen said.
