The Austin girls swimming and diving team is headed back to the Class ‘A’ state ‘true team’ meet for the second time in three years.

The Packers took second at the Section 1A ‘true team’ meet in Northfield Saturday with a team score of 1,437.5 points. Northfield was first with a score of 1,533 points.

While Austin didn’t have any finishers in the top-two, it was led by a strong all-around effort from its squad.

Helen Heimark was third in the 200-freestyle and fifth in the 500-freestyle, Averi Splinter was third in the 50-yard freestyle, and Brooke Johnson was third in the 100-backstroke.

The ‘true team’ state meet will be held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis Friday at 7 p.m.
