One injured in two-vehicle accident north of Austin

The driver of a car involved in a two-vehicle accident late Friday afternoon was taken to Austin Medical Center after Austin firefighters had to extract her from the car.

Exact details were not available as of Friday afternoon, but according to Mower County Deputy Sheriff Mark May, both the car and a pick-up were traveling northbound on County Road 45 just north of Austin when the truck collided with the car, striking it in driver’s side.

The woman was taken to AMC for injuries, the extent of which were not yet known. The driver of the truck was uninjured. Driver names were not released.
