Minnesota dad charged with killing wife, 2 kids

MINNEAPOLIS — A 43-year-old Minnesota man allegedly hit his wife with a golf club and strangled her, then killed two of the couple’s children and locked the bodies in separate rooms.

Justus Ogendi Kebabe is charged Friday with three counts of intentional second-degree murder. His wife, Bilah Omare; 12-year-old son, Kinley Ogendi; and 9-year-old daughter, Ivyn Ogendi, were found in their Vadnais (VAD’-nuhs) Heights apartment late Wednesday.

The complaint says Kebabe told investigators he struck his wife in the head with a golf club and strangled her with an electrical wire.

The complaint says he also told investigators he gave the children cranberry juice spiked with Tylenol PM pills. He allegedly said he held the boy’s head under water in the bathtub until he stopped struggling, and smothered the girl with a pillow and strangled her.

He’s due in court Friday afternoon.
