The Austin volleyball team lost at Rochester Mayo by scores of 25-9, 25-12, 25-14 Thursday.

The Spartans (15-3 overall, 6-0 Big Nine) controlled the tempo throughout, but Austin head coach Darica Schneider found some positives.

“Mayo is a fine tuned machine and they hit the ball well,” she said. “We’re trying to focus on the things we can control right now and not the negative things. We did a good job of getting do our spots and hitting free balls when they were there.”

Babaye Oja had five kills and two ace blocks for Packers (2-13 overall, 0-6 Big Nine), while Ashley Follmuth had six digs, and Jenna Svoboda and Kayla Rodgers each had four set assists.
