The Lyle/Pacelli football team showed some good signs in a 38-20 loss to Lanesboro (3-2 overall) in Lyle Friday night.

The Athletics (1-4 overall) held the Burros scoreless in the third quarter and they scored twice in the fourth quarter to keep it close.

“We got our offense going in the fourth, but we couldn’t stop them,” L/P head coach Mark Buntje said. “Our kids gave a lot better effort than they had in the past two weeks.”

L/P recovered an onside kick while trailing 38-20, but it turned the ball over on downs.

Jake Reed ran for 217 yards to lead Lanesboro.
