In every conversation I have had about the upcoming election, I have heard nothing but dismay from folks. Regardless of party, many have lost faith in the politicians in Washington.

They are concerned about the corruption, the backroom deals, and they don’t think anyone hears them anymore. They are appalled when they hear that a bill has to be passed so we will know what’s in it. They have listened to the promises of fiscal responsibility from both parties, but the spending goes on and on. There is no budget, yet the politicians go back to their districts to campaign to keep their jobs.

Lars Johnson is the one person in this race who has the guts and the drive to run without any party affiliation at all. Lars is not a politician. He did the hard work to get on the ballot without party backing. He has run a campaign without the involvement of special interest groups. No party backing and no special interests mean a shoestring budget. He doesn’t owe anyone anything. Who better to promote cooperation, work hard and know the value of a buck?

Right now, Washington is a mess. Remember the old saying “insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting to get a different result?” Isn’t that exactly what we are doing by voting for the same party platforms over and over again and then being disappointed when the results don’t change? Do something different this time; vote for a true independent who will represent his constituents, not a party’s agenda.
