The Lyle/Pacelli volleyball team struggled with consistency in a four-game loss to Cannon Valley Lutheran in Pacelli Gym Monday.

Although they beat CVL last week, the Athletics couldn’t put it together as they fell by scores of 25-17, 20-25, 25-8, 25-23.

L/P (2-12 overall) rallied to within 24-23 in the last game after Haley Charnecki served an ace, but Charnecki’s next save landed out of bounds to end the match.

“We couldn’t pull out our serves when we needed to and when we got behind we fell off,” L/P head coach Jamie Zielke said.

The Athletics trailed the second game 17-12 when Madison Truckenmiller stepped up to the serving line and delivered 10 straight points —including three aces to put her team up for good.

CVL jumped out to a 14-3 lead in the third game and never looked back.
