The Austin Bruins snapped a six-game losing skid when they beat Alexendria (5-5 overall) in a 2-1 shootout on the road Saturday.

The Bruins (2-6 overall) got goals from Sean Murphy, Trevor Waldoch and Charlie Adams in the shootout.

Austin goalie Keegan Asmundson, who is from Mayville, N.D., stopped four shots by Alexandria in the shootout.

Asmundson stopped 50 of the 51 shots he saw in regulation, while the Bruins had just 21 shots on goal.

Alexandria’s Jordan Nelson tied the game on a power-play goal in the third period.

Chase McDonald scored Austin’s goal in the second period. The score was assisted by James Dickinson and John Kirby.
