Bruins score five times in the third to beat Owatonna

The Austin Bruins’ offense came alive in the third period of a 7-4 victory at Owatonna (5-6 overall) Friday.

The Bruins (3-6 overall) scored five times on 10 third period shots to break open a game that was tied at two.

Austin got goals from James Dickinson, Mathieu Maret and Alex Tesenky over the last 13 minutes top put it away.

The Bruins took a 4-2 lead in the first three minutes of the third period as John Kirby and Jermey Finger scored, but the Xpress scored two straight goals to tie it back up at four.

Austin’s seven goals came from seven different players.

Keegan Asmundson picked up the win in the net as he stopped 33 shots.

The Bruins have now won two straight after dropping six of their first seven contests.
