Bruins drop two at home

The Austin Bruins lost a pair of games to Bismarck (9-2 overall) by a score of 3-0 on Friday and 3-1 on Saturday in Riverside Arena.

The Bruins (1-6 overall) only goal of the weekend came on Saturday when Charlie Adams tied the contest up at one on an unassisted powerplay goal in the first period.

Bismarck took the lead for good when Nikolaj Rosenthal scored in with just over five minutes left in the first and Francis DeAugustine scored in the first minute of the second period to make it 3-1.

Each team attempted 27 shots as Austin goalie Alex Cantrell finished with 24 saves.

On Friday, the Bobcats out-shot Austin 39-25 and Bismarck scored twice in the second period to take over.

The Bruins held to within 2-0 until Mathew Gates scored on an empty net with 34 seconds left in the game.

Keegan Asumndson had 36 saves for Austin.
