With strong winds holding down its passing game, the Blooming Prairie football team went to its ground game in a 48-8 win over No. 7 Wabasha/Kellogg (1-7 overall) in the first round of the Section 1A playoffs in BP Tuesday.

The Awesome Blossoms (7-2 overall) racked up 346 yards on the ground as they jumped out to a 27-0 lead at the break.

Jon Kraling ran for a second quarter score and Luc Zellmer threw three early touchdowns to put the game away.

Luke Hueman, Isaiah Toquam and Gabe Kartes all hauled in TDs for BP.

No. 2 seeded BP will host No. 3 Fillmore Central (4-5 overall) Saturday at 7 p.m.
