Backing for Amazi for sheriff

I have worked for the Mower County Sheriff’s Department for 11-plus years. I started out as a jailor in 1999, promoted to sergeant in 2001, and to assistant jail administrator in late 2009. In all of these years, I have always found Sheriff Terese Amazi to be very approachable with an open door policy. When I was promoted to sergeant, my duties included dealing with the day-to-day issues of the jail. I knew I could approach Sheriff Amazi regarding any issues that needed further discussion. In my current position as assistant jail administrator, it is even more important that I be able to talk to the sheriff at any time regarding any issue that comes up. The sheriff is reachable even if it is after business hours or when she is away from the office.

The jail is a continuous topic. The sheriff supplied the county commissioners with a lot of information received from the Department of Corrections as well as prisoner boarding cost. The commissioners had difficult decisions to make, based upon this information. The sheriff had to support the decision to build a jail.

I support the re-election of Terese Amazi for Mower County sheriff.
