Two teenage Austin males were treated at Austin Medical Center after each taking 20 unknown red pills that the two referred to as “Skittles.”

The two teens, ages 18 and 16, were observed as being “extremely impaired,” according to the incident report.

Sheriff Terese Amazi said one of the boys and his parent sought help at the Law Enforcement Center but were advised to go to the Emergency Room.

Amazi said the pills were most likely over the counter coricidin, a drug that is used as a decongestant or to regulate high blood pressure. She also said the boys purchased the pills collaboratively.

The condition of the two teens is unknown at this time.
