Austin PD investigating thrift store theft

The Austin Police Department is investigating a money theft that occurred at the Salvation Army Thrift Store Wednesday afternoon.

An officer was dispatched to the thrift store, located at 209 Fourth Street Northeast in Austin, and was told the theft likely took place between 4:50 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The incident report said that somebody walked into the thrift store office and took the money box, which held $40 in cash, off the desk.

Sheriff Terese Amazi said there are no suspects at this time.
