MINNEAPOLIS — Protesters are speaking out against recent FBI searches of anti-war activists — on the same day that at least two people from Minnesota are scheduled to testify before a federal grand jury in Chicago.
Tuesday’s protest in Minnesota is at 4:30 p.m. in front of FBI headquarters in Minneapolis.
The FBI searched seven homes and one office in Minneapolis and Chicago on Sept. 24. Search warrants indicated investigators were looking for connections between the activists and radical groups in Colombia and the Middle East.
Activists interviewed by The Associated Press have denied contributing money to terrorist groups.
At least two Minnesotans and two people from Chicago were scheduled to appear before a grand jury Tuesday in Chicago. Others have been subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury at later dates.
